A 12 DAY UGANDA SUPER SAFARI

UGANDA SAFARIS,GORILLA TOURS

Day1
Meet and greet your guide at Entebbe International Airport who will drive you to Kampala the Capital City of Uganda.  Overnight at Speke Hotel or Similar (BB)

Day 2
Early morning at 0700am depart by road to Lake Mburo National Park. A stopover to look at the Equator for photographs, and at Royal Drum makers, with Lunch en-route. This scenic drive will give you views of big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates and Bird viewing opportunities are excellent - for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike. After checking in, you will take a late afternoon game drive or a dug out canoe. Overnight at Mantana tented camp/Mihingo lodge (high end) or Rwonyo camp (Budget)

Day 3
After an early morning breakfast, you will have a nature walk which offers a chance to see at least four different species of animals at any one point while they lick the salty soil where you can see zebra and Impala and it’s also the best place to see the African Eland, Africa’s largest antelope at a strategically located wooden platform.You will then proceed to Mbarara with a stop over at the Ankole long-horned cattle sighting en-route. Lunch stop at Mbarara town and continue to Kabale past beautiful hills. Proceed to Lake Bunyonyi, a very scenic spot, dotted with small islands and ringed by steeped terraced hills. Day 4
After breakfast, go for a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi for a tour around the beautiful Islands on the Lake. The lake is a home to several bird species and an opportunity to view otters. Enjoy sight seeing of Kigezi terraced hills, lunch and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On clear day, view the Virunga's from a distance and the Western Rift Valley stretch as it disappears to border of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the home of the mountain Gorillas!  Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 5
Early morning, have a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for tracking gorillas, a reasonable degree of fitness is required for the Experience. Report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers Before 8:00 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which trek can take from half an hour to 9 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. It’s amazing to sit, watch and photograph the gorillas in the forest among, listening to them marvel and grumble to each other. It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful creatures left, which is allowed for only 1 hour! Other mammals in the forest include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and many others.

In case you have a free afternoon, take a guided walk on the Munyaga River trail, which leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls views of epiphytic ferns, tree ferns, orchids colorful butterflies or have a guided village walk to see how the Ugandans live!

Day 6
Early morning after breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park following the mystical Rwenzori Range. A game drive en route will reward you with views of buffalo, elephant, antelope, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. Primates include Chimps, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 7
Have an early morning game drive will provide excellent opportunities to see buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kobs, antelope, Defassa Waterbucks, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which is an excellent platform for game viewing, bird watching and photography.

Day 8
You will carry out another game drive in the morning exploring different tracks exploiting all chances of viewing game that inhabit this beautiful part of the world. After lunch depart for Kibale Forest National Park - home of chimpanzees. Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest House (FB)

Day 9
This day after breakfast, report to the ranger station at 08.00am to track habituated chimps. Start your search for Chimpanzees and over 13 species of primates including red tailed and grey cheek Mangabey, Birds and other primates. Have a wonderful experience viewing other mammals including smaller elephants, giant forest hog, buffalo, and antelope species. The guide will provide detailed explanations on flora and Fauna to ensure that your walk is both enjoyable and informative.

Day 10
Early morning after breakfast, drive North via Hoima to Murchison Falls, through the beautiful country side past traditional farms and homesteads. Continue through the park stopping at the top of the falls, where the longest river is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters, and have  a game viewing experience on the way to view buffalos, hippos, elephants and many more

Day 11
This day, have an early morning game drive through the park to view Giraffe, leopard, hyenas, Oribi, Elephants, lions, Bushbuck and many more. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and then take a boat trip along the Nile with views of hippos, elephants, Nile crocodiles and allows you more bird watching of species like the shoebill, colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks.

Day 12
After break fast, we will depart to Kampala arriving in the early evening.
Otherwise transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
