UGANDA TOURS ITINERARY FOR BIRDING & WILDLIFE :QUEEN ELIZABETH , LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK SAFARIS
5 DAY UGANDA BIRDING AND WILDLIFE SAFARIS
DAY 1:
After breakfast head early morning towards the west, with a stopover at the equator for photographic opportunity, proceed to Mbarara town for lunch. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have a game drive en-route with a possibility of seeing Leopards, Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.
Over night at Mweya Safari Lodge / Budget Institute of ecology. (BLD)
DAY 2:
Have an early morning game drive will provide excellent opportunities to see buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kobs, antelope, Defassa Waterbucks, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. In the afternoon, have a boat ride to Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward, which is an excellent platform for game viewing, bird watching and photography. . Other animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 3:
After a very early breakfast, head to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking.Start your search for Chimpanzees and over 13 species of primates including red tailed and grey cheek Mangabey, Birds and other primates. Your walk will be both enjoyable and informative as the guides will provide detailed explanations on flora and Fauna.
After lunch, visit the crater lakes region, Baboon cliffs and Katwe Salt works for a glimpse into traditional salt mining. This is one of the oldest salt mines in Uganda established in the 14th Century. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
DAY 4:
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Have a lunch stop at Mbarara town and thereafter proceed to the park. This Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent - for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike. After checking in, you will take a late afternoon game drive or a dug out canoe.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp/Mihingo lodge (high end) or Rwonyo camp (Budget)
Day 5:
After breakfast depart for Kampala, following a game drive to see zebras, antelopes, impalas, elephants, topis, elands, buffaloes.Return to Kampala or Entebbe Airport for departure. END OF SAFARI.
