KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Kibale National Park is an extensive National Park, with a variety of primates and wildlife. The park harbors Chimpanzees therefore making it ideal for primate watching safaris, and a wide range of Birds offering excellent bird watching opportunities with birds like the White-naped Pigeon, Chestnut-winged Starling and other wildlife like Elephant, Bush Pig Golden, Cat, Serval, Lion, Leopard, Warthog, Giant Hog, Hippopotamus and Buffalo.

ACCESS:
Kibale National Park is situated in Fort portal. This is about 6-7 hours drive from Kampala. A 4WD vehicle is recommended to travel to the Park.

PARK ATTRACTIONS/ACTIVITIES:

Chimpanzee Tracking:
Have a day to search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey, birds, Red-Colobus monkeys, butterflies, small insects and bird life. Chimp sighting are not guaranteed on these walks but the odds encountering them stand at over 90%

Bird Watching:
This is a bird haven for birders and contains an extensive area of wetland with species like the Grey-backed cameroptera, Grey-headed Olive-back, double-toothed barbet, markhamia platy calyx, harrier hawk, narina trogn, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Grey-throated Flycatcher, green pigeon, Red-chested Fluff tail and many more.

Children’s Activities:
These activities cater for children under the age 12 years, which include interesting walks through the forest, games and creative activities like paper-making, cyanotype, pond-dipping, batik making and photography.

Guided walk and Forest Hike:
Bigodi Swamp guided walk and the forest walk takes you a wide range of attractions including primates like the red and white colobus monkeys, I’hoest monkey, and vervet monkeys and Bird species like the Blue Throated Roller, Shining Blue Kingfisher etc
With a 64 km guided walk, takes through a bigger part of the park and communities for several days.
