GORILLA SAFARI TO BWINDI | QUEEN ELIZABETH TOURS
Day 1
You will be met by your gorilla tours guide after breakfast, then depart from Kampala by road and head south-West to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Have a stopover for some informative talk and photographic opportunity at the Equator and then continue to Mbarara for Lunch. Travel through the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ with rolling green hills through the highlands, with views of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo.
The road will then lead us to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorillas and you will sleep to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 2
Early morning, have a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking, a reasonable degree of fitness is required for the Experience. Report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers Before 8:00 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which trek can take from half an hour to 9 hours. It’s amazing to sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them marvel and grumble to each other. It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful creatures left, which is allowed for only 1 hour!

In case you have a free afternoon, take a guided walk on the Munyaga River trail, which leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls views of epiphytic ferns, tree ferns, orchids colorful butterflies or have a guided village walk to see how the Ugandans live!

Day 3
Early morning after breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park following the mystical Rwenzori Range. A game drive en route will reward you with views of buffalo, elephant, antelope, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. Primates include Chimps, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 4:
Have an early morning game drive will provide excellent opportunities to see buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kobs, antelope, Defassa Waterbucks, Spotted Hyena, leopard, lion as well as bird species. In the afternoon, have a boat ride to Kazinga Channel, which is an excellent platform for game viewing, bird watching and photography.
Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 5:
After a very early breakfast, head to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking and a variety of primates. Leave Queen Elizabeth to Kampala, Lunch on route and arrive in the city late evening to your accommodation or otherwise transfer to the airport to catch your flight your flight back home.
